Oops, I forgot to send our picnic update note home today. The park at the end of Gisi Road is very wet from all the recent rains. So, we will be having our picnic on the school playground instead. All families are welcome to join us. We will head out for
June Field Trip to Melfort!
Our class will be joining the Grade 1 to 5 English classes on a field trip to the Melfort wave pool on Thursday June 19th. Here is the note that was sent home on Monday June 2nd: Dear Grade Two Parents/Guardians, Mon. June 2, 2014. What a busy month! As the school year end approaches, it is great to look back and see all the progress that your children have made over the year. I have truly enjoyed getting to know your children and all of you as well. We have had a great year. In June we continue our learning in the classroom and beyond as we enjoy field trips, play days and many other fun activities. Our year end trip is taking place Thursday June 19th. We are going to the Melfort Wave Pool. There will be 4 other classes from our school going as well. Since there will be no canteen available, your child should bring a bagged lunch (no microwave items please). We will leave shortly after 9 a.m. and return by 2:30. Any parents that are willing to go in the water are more than welcome to join us to help supervise in the pool and at the bottom of the waterslides. There are adequate life guards however; it is nice to have more adults in the pool (the waterslides will not open without extra supervision). Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate younger siblings on this trip because of safety, lifeguard, and bussing issues. The cost of this trip is covered by our fundraising earlier this school year. We are leaving the school shortly after 9 a.m. so be sure your child is on time. 1) Send your child to school with their swimsuit on under their clothes. 2) Send a change of clothes. 3) A towel and a plastic bag (to put wet swimsuits into). 4) A bag or their empty backpack to carry all of their things. 5) A cold lunch that does not require a microwave. 6) Extra snacks and a water bottle. 7) A lifejacket if your child requires one (please be sure it is labeled with their name and that you have a plastic bag big enough to fit it for the ride home) ** the pool has some available but don’t rely on them to have one if your child needs one. Do not send waterwings. Students do not need sunscreen, toys of any kind, or money. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you Mrs. P. Hicks |
